The Molten Pelican

This sculpture was created from terracotta, but during the firing process, suffered from a kiln malfunctioned. This malfunction caused the sculpture to physically sag, melt and bond to the kiln shelves. During the moving process, the sculpture began to crack as the shelves began shifting and vibrating in motion.
